What Care Costs was designed and implemented by illumifin, the nation’s leader in long-term care administration services. Each year illumifin surveys thousands of Skilled Nursing Home, Home Health Care and Assisted Living Facility providers to collect cost of care data. The cost of care figures are calculated from over 30,000 different providers at the national, state and MSA (metropolitan statistical area) level.
Skilled Nursing Homes provide residents with a place where they can receive continuous nursing care and support. We surveyed over 7,000 Skilled Nursing Homes to find out their rates for both Private and Semi-Private Rooms*. Most nursing homes report rates that are all-inclusive, meaning that personal care, memory care and other services offered in addition to room and board are already captured in the daily room rates.
Home Health Care providers employ or contract with various aides to deliver care and services that range from assistance with bathing, dressing and transferring, as well as providing assistance with more serious medical issues. We surveyed 15,500 Home Health Care providers to find out their rates for Home Health Aide, Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse services*.
Assisted Living Facilities are housing facilities that provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living, coordination of services by outside home care providers and monitor resident activities to ensure their health, safety and well-being. We surveyed 12,000 Assisted Living Facilities to find out their rates for 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom and Studio apartments*. Unlike nursing homes, Assisted Living Facilities have more complex pricing schedules based on the size and type of the living unit, as well as the amount and type of care services provided.
